Willow Springs Fantasy League
For this project we will pretend that the class is the editorial board of Willow Springs, and the task for the week is to select eight of 20 submitted poems for publication in the next issue.
First Day:
- Form Groups (2 three-person teams; 2 four-person teams):
- First Task: Formulation of a statement by the groups and then the whole class of "What we are looking for."
- Assign five poems to each group.
Second Day:
Each three-person group picks three poems to recommend, and each four-person group picks four poems. Each group discusses how to pitch the selected poems, and decides who is going to pitch what.
Third Day: Paper Ballots will be distributed for note-taking and for voting. Each person will present a pitch, which must include a reading of the poem. Each person will get four votes, and votes will be counted only after all the pitches have been made.
