Student-taught Lessons
Required Elements:
- A clear student learning objective, which you will announce in your lesson.
- You must use a slide presentation (Power Point, Prezi, etc.) and give other students access to it via the Page on Student-taught Lessons. Your presentation must have no more than three bullet points per slide. Each bullet point must be supported by at least one quotation that is shown on a slide and explained. At least every other slide must have an appropriate image; no generic flowers, unicorns, etc.
- A significant interaction element, such as a discussion, a survey, or a game. (Two suggestions if you want to have a discussion: 1) Ask your students to focus on specific passages. 2) Be aware of and ready to cope with the very strong possibility that your students will come to conclusions that you did not expect and which may even be just as valid as what you had in mind.)
- Five non-essay quiz questions, such as multiple choice; true/false; matching. Put them on Kahoot!, and link to them from your part of the Page on Student-taught Lessons.
- Correct spelling, punctuation, etc.
- Accurate timing: no less than 65 minutes, no more than 75, not including the Kahoot.
