Romeo and Juliet.

Contents: Part of the Chill With Will site, most of this page looks like the notes that the anonymous author took when he/she studied Romeo and Juliet in high school.

Here's a list of what's offered:

  • "Background": Three short paragraphs of general remarks on Romeo and Juliet.
  • "Summary": One short paragraph on each scene. The summary is usually accurate, but the author identifies Capulet as Tybalt's father and makes a few other minor mistakes.
  • "Characters": One or two sentences about most of the speaking characters; three or four sentences about the more important ones.
  • "Themes, Applications, and Essays":
    • Two paragraphs on "Love."
    • One paragraph on "Hate."
    • One paragraph on "Fate."
    • A list of examples of "Foreshadowing."
    • Ten essay topics.
  • "Vocabulary": Twenty-five old words defined. (Note: the author writes "ain" for "fain.")
  • "Quizzes and Games and other Fun Things": Links to stuff that requires plug-ins, plus five anagrams (e.g. "Mr. Eeo" = "Romeo" -- kind of.)
  • "Romeo and Juliet in Film": A list of films of Romeo and Juliet, with links to websites about those films. About half the links are dead.
  • "Audio Readings": Five are listed, but only two are actually available. Those two passages are read by an amateur actress.
  • "Other": A review of the 1996 Romeo + Juliet movie. The reviewer is a Leonardo DiCaprio fan and provides several Leonardo DiCaprio links (whoopee!).
  • "Useful Links": There are two, both dead.

Appearance Note: The site can cause eyestrain. It's white on black and sometimes there are random line breaks.

Bottom Line: Nothing here that isn't done better elsewhere.
