Contents: This is the official promotional site for the 1996 movie, directed by Baz Luhrmann and featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in the title roles. Originally, the site had pictures, text and a bunch of "really cool" features: a bulletin board, a game, a chat room, a downloadable screen saver, and a complete soundtrack. Now the only things that you can actually access are the pictures and text. The text covers the usual introductory topics: Shakespeare's life, the story of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare's sources, the first printing of Romeo and Juliet, etc. All of this is tricked out to appeal to teens, who apparently read nothing except tabloids and understand things better via PG-13 obscenities.
